The mystery of the potty cat
I think that I am an adequately intelligent person. However, one of Bubble Toe's books has me stumped.
I get this one: And this one: This one, too: I even get this one: And this one: And this one, although who says "grotty": And this one might be a stretch, but I see where they're going: But this one! This one I just don't get. What in the world is a "potty cat" and why is it flying? Help us out Voxers! Solve The Mystery of the Potty Cat.

The first thing that came to my mind was that the cat was high. It's the only thing I could think of that connected the "pot"ty and the flying! The pot-bellied pig thing is probably it, though, since I really hope no one would make a baby book with drug references!
They probably are just banking on kids loving the word "potty," or at least knowing it, and hoping that the parents reading the book to the kids are too delirious with exhaustion to notice.
I think that Maddy's suggestion might make the most sense, especially if it was written by someone from England. We don't generally use the term potty for crazy in the US, but maybe it is a more common word there. It might also explain why it's eyes are closed and its tongue is sticking out, although both of those would also work with the drug thing....hmmm. I guess we'll never know for sure.
Ah, yes! It does make sense now that I realize Maddy is from the UK (which I should've remembered since I've read some of her knitting posts). Yet another instance in which we're reminded that, although we speak the same language, it's as if they have a different word for everything over there! You'd think I'd be used to that by now with all of Eric's British coworkers...
The book is really cute, "Potty Cat" or not. Now I want it for Jake's birthday!
Pretty funny stuff. =)
