I just sent the final (or more likely, second to final) draft of my dissertation off to my committee and requested a date for my defense in mid September! I should be going back to Chicago in 2 months or less to stand in front of my committee and defend a paper that I basically wrote 2+ years ago. I think I have some major studying to do!

Thanks everyone, but hold your congratulations until I actually pass my defense! I hope that my chair wouldn't have told me to send it on if she wasn't fairly confident that I will pass....right? = /

Aack! It must be a relief to have it in, even if you do still have to defend. My former manager at UCSF still hadn't submitted hers as of the time I left UCSF (that was 2 yrs ago, so maybe she has by now, but she'd already left grad school about 4 years before that!). I hope she's got it in by now, because she just had a baby in April. Which, BTW, kudos to you for getting yours done even with a baby! Good luck!
